Product Description
Starch sodium octenyl succinate / E1450 starch
Starch sodium octenyl succinate  is prepared by treating starch with octenyl succinic anhydride (succinic acid and octanol). The ingredient of SSOS is modified acetyl modified starch ester. It is used as emulsifier, stabilizer, thickener and microcapsule embedding medium.

Main and auxiliary ingredients:            
Octenyl succinic anhydride (OSA)

Starch sodium octenyl succinate(SSOS) is predominately used as Thickener. A substance used to increase the viscosity of a mixture while not changing any other properties.
Emulsifier: Used in food to maintain a uniform mixture between two or more unblendable mixtures. For example a mixture of oil and water. Predominately used to thicken drinks, yoghurt, cheese, canned food, frozen fruit, pies, jellies, gravy stuffing, and thick food, canned vegetables, fishes and meat, salad dressings, sauces, and confectionary.
